Rangers activate Cruz from DL

05/14/2010 - Toronto, ON (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Texas Rangers have activated outfielder Nelson Cruz from the 15-day disabled list.

The 29-year-old had been placed on the DL on April 27 with a strained right hamstring.

He started two games on a rehabilitation assignment for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday and Wednesday and combined to go 3-for-9 with three runs batted in.

Cruz left the Rangers April 26 against Detroit in the sixth inning after aggravating the injury, which he originally suffered in a series with Boston the previous week.

Prior to his stint on the DL, Cruz was batting .323 with seven home runs and 17 RBI over 19 games.

To make room on the roster for Cruz, Texas optioned infielder Ryan Garko to Oklahoma City.

Garko was batting .094 (3-for-32) with three RBI in 14 games for the Rangers, including eight starts.
